The Bentley ½" and 1" Subsea Gate Valve range
complies fully with API 6A and 17D, offering smaller bore
sizes than the existing API range. The compact yet robust
design makes these valves ideal for use in restricted
areas, enabling optimum equipment design on subsea
Christmas trees, manifolds, pump and pipeline equipment.
Applications include: chemical injection, annulus wing
valves, test lines, pressure/temp transducer isolation.
Bentley valves are metal-to-metal sealing throughout and
exhibit all the features found in larger gate valves.
This makes them ideally suited for operation on dirt
laden fluids, where other valve types can be vulnerable.
VALVE FEATURES
Metal-to-Metal Seat/Gate Seal: the
split gates are pre-loaded against the seat face using a
patented static leaf spring design enabling a low
pressure gas tight seal to be achieved without the aid of
a lubricant or sealant injection.
Patented Metal-to-Metal Seat/Body Seal: the seats are
fully retained against the valve body, allowing a 100%
static metal seal. Tests have shown that the seat will
seal with pressure energisation alone.
Metal-to-Metal Stem Backseat Seal: in
the closed position the stem moves back onto the metal-to-metal
coned seal. (The manual valve backseats in the open
position).
Double Barrier High Integrity Stem Seals: two well proven
high integrity stem seals are used - a spring energised
lip seal followed by a composite seal.
Metal-to-Metal Bonnet and End Cover
Seals: metal seals similar to the AX type provide bonnet
and end cover containment.
Deep Water Capability: standard valves available for 3,000 Meters water depth.
Greater depth capability available as specials.
Pressure Ratings: standard ½" and 1" valves
rated for 5,000 psi, 10,000 psi & 15,000 psi.
Hydraulic, Mechanical or ROV Operation: both ½" and
1" valves are available with hydraulic or mechanical
operation.
Integral Check Valves: check valves can also be built
into the valve inlet or outlet to provide a double
barrier against the well fluid.
Multiple Valves in a Mono Block: available, for example:
double block and bleed or several valves as required for
chemical injection manifolds.
High Torque Capability: both manual and
hydraulic override versions are available which allow
high torques (250 lbf ft [340Nm]) to be applied to the
actuation stem.
Bi-Directional Sealing: the valve is totally symmetrical
and therefore bi-directional.
Hydraulic Compensators: our own purpose designed
compensators are available which seal directly onto the
valve bonnet without the need for external pipe work.
TYPE APPROVAL TESTING
Extensive type approval testing over and above API requirements has been completed,
including a life cycle test programme of 2,000 cycles
(opening against full rated differential pressure) has been completed,
with low and high pressure gas testing to API 6A PSL 4 being successfully completed
both before and after cycling.
Test witnessed by Lloyds Register.
Both hyperbaric depth testing and environmental temperature testing to API 6A PR2 rating PU
(-20°F [-29°C] to
+250°F [121°C])
has been completed with the environmental testing witnessed by Lloyds Register.
